MISSION and GOALS:

DocuVita Media Association is a non-profitable organization based in Toronto Canada in 2007, which promotes documentary TV shows designed to explore and capture life of immigrants in Canada in order to inform them about greater possibilities and potentials of their integration and prosperity in various aspects of economic, political and cultural life in Canada and immigrants homeland as well.

The ultimate goal of DMA is to follow this model and concept of creating  projects which would serve as an example of how to preserve immigrants national identity, involving at the same time mutual cultural and economic benefits.

History of research for the right candidate

2001-2003 DMA founders began researching and collecting data on demographics of the immigrants in Canada and concluded that Serbs are one of the oldest immigrant population in Canada (spanning six generations). According to Canadian government knowledge they are currently the most educated immigrants settled in Canada.

2003-2005 After further research of Serbian diaspora, not only in Canada but all over the world, DMA found out, that the largest part of Serbian intellectuals live and work in Canada, and thus significantly participate and contribute to the development of Canadian economy.

2005-2007 During the process of further research, DMA inferred that due to consequences of assimilation into the new society, sudden drop in birth rate in their homeland, recent civil war, bombing, political and economic crises, Serbian nation might be seriously in danger to disappear as a whole in near future, especially if they continue to emigrate to economically more developed countries at the same rate as up to now.

2007-2009 Based on the above, DMA deduced that Serbian diaspora in Canada had fulfilled all criteria to act as the best and most interesting candidate to be portrayed in TV documentary series "Ambassadors of Serbia" which had been co-financed by the Serbian Ministry of Diaspora in 2010.
